Who I Am

Mary Joie Mendoza is a New Jersey–based multidisciplinary artist with a current focus on Game VFX. She has three years of hands-on production experience through advanced coursework and project-based training at The Los Angeles Film School, specializing in real-time visual effects in Unreal Engine—ranging from Niagara systems to gameplay-driven FX, custom textures, and sprite development.

Outside of VFX, Mary is a soul wanderer who draws inspiration from sketching, travel, and photography, allowing her experiences to shape the tone and storytelling within her art.

Her multidisciplinary background spans compositing, modeling, look development, and illustration, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the CG pipeline.

Her main toolset includes Unreal Engine, Houdini, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Nuke, and Adobe Creative Suite.
